17 Here is a formula to convert degrees Celsius (°C) to degrees Fahrenheit (°F).

\[F = 1.8C + 32\]

\(F\) is the number of degrees Fahrenheit
\(C\) is the number of degrees Celsius

(a) Show that \(\qquad\) –40°C = –40°F [2 marks]
(b) The temperature is –15°C
