Foundation June 2024 Paper 2 Q17
17 Here is a triangle \(ABC\).

The region R consists of all points inside the triangle that are
less than 4 cm from \(A\)
and closer to \(C\) than to \(B\).
On the diagram show, by shading, the region R. (3)
| Answer | Mark | Mark scheme |
|---|---|---|
| Region R shown | C1 | for arc drawn, radius 4 cm, centre \(A\) |
| C1 | for perpendicular bisector of \(CB\) drawn | |
| C1 | for fully correct region R shown (inside the arc from \(A\) and left of the bisector) |
Additional guidance
Allow free hand drawing
Ignore absence of “R” if region is unambiguously shown eg by shading
